In Memory

Anthony Williams

Anthony Williams was born on April 27, 1971.  He was a 1989 graduate of Mainland High School, and later received an undergraduate degree from Bethune-Cookman University, followed by a move back to his hometown of Chicago and an MBA from National-Louis University.  He worked for the Cook County (Illinois) government, and he loved his Chicago sports teams.  It is no surprise that he had many, many friends in Chicago and beyond.  After touching the lives of so many of us and others, he passed away on Thursday, January 26th, 2012, at the age of 40, due to complications following surgery for a heart condition.  He is survived by his brother, Al Williams, and his father, Volusia County School Board Chairman Al Williams.

The Class of 1989 will forever miss Anthony.  His huge, friendly smile and his sense of humor were infectious, and they made the world around him a better place to be.  Though he leaves us too soon, we were all blessed beyond measure to call him a classmate and friend.

Anthony had an infectious smile.  He was always grinning ear to ear.  It was hard to feel bad about anything in Anthony's presence.  My deepest sympathies to the Williams Family.  May God provide you with comfort during this difficult time.
